Advocates are trained community ambassadors who carry U-MATTER's wellbeing, peacebuilding and youth empowerment work into schools, campuses and neighbourhoods across Kenya.

How the Advocate journey works

    Apply

    Complete the application form below.

    Review & Acceptance

    We review applications and notify successful applicants.

    Training

    Attend the U-MATTER Advocate training program.

  4. 4

    Certification Payment

    A certification fee is paid after training — not at application.

  5. 5

    Certificate Issuance

    Receive your Advocate certification and join our deployment roster.

Training

Structured cohort training covering wellbeing, safeguarding, peer support, peacebuilding and community engagement.

Certification

Upon completion, Advocates receive U-MATTER certification. A modest certification fee applies — payable after training, not at application.

Deployment

Advocates serve in schools, campuses, communities, research projects and ANCHOR promotion across Kenya.

Requirements

Who we look for

  • Aged 18+ (younger applicants considered with guardian consent)
  • Passion for community wellbeing and youth empowerment
  • Willingness to complete the training program
  • Commitment to U-MATTER's safeguarding and ethics
  • Ability to dedicate time monthly for outreach activities
  • Open to one or more areas of deployment

Advocate Application

No payment is required at this stage. Certification fees apply only after training.
